Teatro das Figuras reopens with Viviane and the Algarve Jazz Orchestra

Concert halls may reopen on April 19th…if all goes well

The Theater of Figures, in Faro, plans to reopen its doors on April 19, according to the stipulated deconfinement plan, in time to present, live, concerts by Viviane (on the 22nd) and by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve (on the 30th).

«The April schedule remains eclectic, faithful to its mission, designed for the most diverse audiences. After the silence of recent months and when the pandemic has already completed a year among us, the reopening of Teatro das Figuras, in April, gives more stage to music to break that silence», says this cultural space.

Also online, the 2nd cycle of Bandas ao Figuras will have, on the 6th, Mundopardo (a band that was born in Faro and has already released two original discs).

On the 8th, Accurate Void will perform (band characterized by a distinctive style and sound, which includes “an unparalleled and different voice” with “original guitar lines”) and, on the 10th, it is up to the farense band MEDO to represent punk hardcore in the region (they present the new album “Monopólio da Violência”, written online and recorded during the pandemic).

On the 13th, it will be Fad'Nu's turn (a singer and a guitarist travel through Fado and its poets, free from dogma).

On the 15th, Orfélia will perform (which result from the artistic encounter between a Brazilian and a Portuguese and their traditional musical genres) and, on the 17th, YUCA.

On the 20th, with Teatro das Figuras open doors, the 2nd cycle of Bandas ao Figuras continues online and it is metal that will be heard by INHUMAN (focused on the presentation of the album “Contra”, released in November 2020 ), ending on April 24th with the performance of Plasticine (10 musicians on stage bring us jazz, funk, soul, rock, afro-beat, among other sounds).

On the 21st, at 18:30 pm, the Pandemic Symbols exhibition (result of the residency of the Emerging Cycle of Teatro das Figuras) will open in the foyer of the Theater, a nucleus of fifteen paintings and two sculptures by BASAP (Fábio Alexandre), in a proposal by reflection on the pandemic.

Do streaming to welcome the public in its large auditorium, complying with all the rules established by the DGS, Teatro das Figuras maintains its commitment to music with the concert by the Algarve Viviane, on 22 April.

The composer and singer began her musical career in the early 90s with the group “Entre Aspas” and, in this concert, she will premiere some of the songs from her new album of originals that will be released soon.

On the 28th, at 21 pm, the cycle of lectures Vidas com Arte, broadcast online, live on Teatro das Figuras' YouTube channel, which presents the artistic and creative paths of established and emerging artists, working as a class alive for the local and national artistic community and for the general public, will have Paula Varandas as a guest.

«On World Dance Day, April 29, we hosted the show Borderline, by the French company Wang Ramirez and choreographed by Sébastien Ramirez and Honji Wang, a metaphor about human relations, molded in the suspended body of the five dancers, fixed by cables , which in the desire for freedom inherent in all forms of dance become the object of a “weight game”, of balance and freedom», says Teatro das Figuras.

The Faro cultural space will end the month with the celebration of the International Jazz Day, April 30, with the concert Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve “Invites the Ladies”, a new project that brings together the Jazz Orchestra of the Algarve with four female voices, new values ​​and established artists, who interpret jazz standards interspersed with originals.

The times will be defined according to the evolution of the established rules and communicated in the official channels of Teatro das Figuras, namely the website and social networks.
