Portimão hosts a webinar on psychological well-being during the pandemic

Portimão will mark World Health Day with an online seminar on psychological well-being in the context of a pandemic, on the 7th, next Wednesday, at 21 pm, on the Microsoft TEAMS platform.

The webinar “Emotions & Health in times of pandemic” will discuss the best ways to deal with stress, anxiety and depression situations, as well as preventing, caring for and maintaining well-being in a Covid-19 context.

The guest speakers are Henda Lopes, psychologist, psychotherapist and trainer in the areas of interculturality and multiculturalism, and Catarina Paiva de Oliveira, ambassador of Associação Salvador and activist for the rights of people with disabilities.

The event is free, but registration is mandatory and must be made until April 6th by email [email protected].

The theme of the webinar "gains special importance in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic and consequent confinement, due to the constraints on our daily routines, generating some anxiety, a feeling of loneliness, particularly affecting the most vulnerable", believes the Municipality of Portimão, that organizes the initiative.

On the same day, and in addition to the usual physical activity class that will take place online from 9:30 am on the Portimão – More Sports for All Facebook page, «a special physical activity class is scheduled for 18:00, with the participation of several teachers of the municipal classes, which can be followed on the official channels of the municipality on the internet».

The Chamber stresses, moreover, that, "despite the constraints inherent in this pandemic, and in order to counter the negative effects caused, the Municipality of Portimão has taken measures so that informal users continue to maintain the rhythm of their physical activity classes , using the respective recording and online transmission through the municipality's social networks».

«The regularity of municipal classes in online format, transmitted on the Zoom platform, has also been maintained, while suggestions are disclosed to apply in the context of telework, under the responsibility of several Physical Education teachers, as well as recipes and tips for a meal healthy, in charge of nutritionist Patrícia Cabral, and which are available on the Facebook page of the municipality “More Sport for All”», says the municipality.

«All these measures aim to promote the mental health and physical well-being of all people, following the strategy that guides the actions of the Municipality of Portimão and which gains particular relevance in this context of pandemic», concludes the Municipality of Portimão.
