Loulé will audition aimed at young people residing in the Algarve, on the 28th, 29th and 30th of April, at Palácio Gama Lobo, to participate in a European dance project.

The auditions are aimed at young people who have some training, in particular in urban or contemporary dance, but are open to all styles.

«You are looking for young people who are motivated by teamwork and who adapt well to multidisciplinary contexts (theatre, music, dance)», says the municipality of Loulé.

Those selected will be able to travel around Europe with the other dancers from other countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Romania, United Kingdom, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Sweden .

The goal will be to create shows in several European cities, including Loulé, over four years, until 2024.

In Portugal, the People Power Partnership (PPP) has already held two hearings last year (Lisbon and Loulé), with the pandemic context having ended up slightly delaying the process, but the selection panel will be in Portugal again (Loulé) for a second opportunity to attract young talent.

The Municipality of Loulé is, along with the Municipality of Lisbon, one of the two Portuguese partners in the People Power Partnership, a large-scale artistic co-creation project led by Germany, through Aktionstheater PAN.OPTIKUM in Friburg.

In all, the PPP has 14 European partners and the dancers come from 16 countries. The project is funded by the European Union's Creative Europe program and runs until December 2024.

To participate, interested parties must answer, in English, in a short video, five questions (In which dance style or dance environment of you feel the most comfortable, the most at home?; What could be challenging for you regarding dance or the choreography work?; What are your skills in dancing and in terms of behavior, such as character traits that you bring into the group and the team?; What do you expect and what are your important goals to reach with this project?; What could be difficult for you regarding our project?).

The video must be sent by WhatsApp to +49 151 2263 9283 or by Wetransfer to [email protected].

For more information, interested parties can contact the Municipality of Loulé via e-mail [email protected].

During the project period, the young participants will have the opportunity to work, for 10 weeks, together with other young people from partner entities, and each participant will travel to at least four different countries.
