Photography exhibition shows the Algarve Interior at Palácio Gama Lobo de Loulé

The exhibition will be open to the public until the 3rd of July, at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé

The exhibition “Documentar Algarve Interior – 9 stories / 30 photographs”, by Eduardo Pinto and Laura Carlos, will be open to the public until the 3rd of July, at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé.

Through photographic and filmic records, the exhibition «transports us to arts and crafts – today almost extinct – of the Algarve region and its protagonists», according to the Loulé Chamber.

The pita rope, traditional stonework or shepherding are some of the traditional activities presented in the exhibition.

This initiative “leads us to remember some of the popular traditions and expressive practices that are still alive and are part of the collective memory and identity of the Algarve interior”.

The project, carried out between 2010 and 2015, aimed to contribute to the enhancement of the local cultural heritage and promote the dynamics around creative activities linked to audiovisual production in the Algarve.

The video contents were made in collaboration with filmmakers in the region, focusing on the municipalities of Albufeira, Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Faro, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.

The exhibition is free and can be visited from Monday to Friday (from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm) and on Saturdays (from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm).
