The Olhão Vaccination Centre, «created in record time by the local authority», in partnership with ACES (Grouping of Health Centers) Central and ARS Algarve, is now ready to operate. The new structure was visited today, World Health Day, by the mayor António Miguel Pina.
Located in the “Os Olhanenses” Sports Club, this space, “ready to work and which will open as soon as the mass vaccination against Covid-19 starts in the county, will allow 400 people to be vaccinated a day and, if necessary, increase its capacity. , at least, up to the double», stresses the municipality in a press release.
«We took the opportunity today, World Health Day, to visit our Vaccination Center, in what was a partnership with ACES Central and ARS. We make a special thanks to the Sports Club “Os Olhanenses”, which kindly provided us with this space so that the entire population of the municipality of Olhão can be vaccinated as soon as possible», said the mayor from Olhão, during his visit to the Olhão Vaccination Center .
«Through our Fire and Civil Protection Corporation, we were able to quickly create here the capacity to vaccinate 400 people a day, in a first phase, and if we have to increase this capacity, there is still room for us to reach, at least, 700 to 800 people a day», revealed António Miguel Pina, appealing to the people of Olhano not to give up the possibility of being vaccinated when summoned to do so.
“The important thing is that the vaccines arrive. It is crucial for our community that we are all vaccinated. For our part, we are giving our best and making all the necessary investment available, so that the vaccination takes place in the best possible way and as quickly as possible», emphasized António Miguel Pina.
