The municipality of Alcoutim and the Alcoutim Children and Youth Commission (CPCJ) once again mark “April, Month for the Prevention of Mistreatment of Children and Youth”, in order to sensitize the population to this issue.
As part of the initiative, the Paços do Concelho building was illuminated in shades of blue and will remain so throughout the month of April.
Some activities are planned, which aim to give prominence and visibility to the theme of maltreatment in childhood. A frame associated with the theme was also made available, to be used on Facebook, leaving the municipality with the invitation that “it may be adopted by all followers of the Alcoutim Municipality page on this social network”.
"These symbolic activities are intended to sensitize the entire community to the reality that many children live and that are so often silenced, alerting them to their important role, alongside that of the competent authorities, in defending children's rights, which are so often still violated." , says the municipality.
