Tavira celebrates Easter with online concert

Concert will be broadcast on Facebook of the Municipality

Francisco Sassetti (piano) and Ângela Silva (soprano) will give a concert to mark the Easter season, at Igreja da Misericórdia, in Tavira, on Saturday, April 3, at 21 pm, which will be broadcast on the Municipality Facebook.

This concert “is made up of an eclectic repertoire of erudite composers such as: Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Handel, Haydn, Schubert, among others”, says Câmara de Tavira.

 

About the interpreters:

Francisco Sassetti
Born in Lisbon, he completed the General Piano Course at the Lisbon National Conservatory and at the Lisbon Superior School of Music. In 1995, he obtained a master's degree in Piano Performance at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnatti (USA).

He began his career as a concert pianist at Teatro de São Luís, in Lisbon, performing as an accompanist pianist, either solo or as part of chamber music groups.

He has already worked with several musical formations, namely, with the Orquestra Sinfonietta de Lisboa, the Filarmonia das Beiras, the Choir of the National Theater of São Carlos, the Coral Regina Coeli, the Coral Luísa Todi, the Lisboa Cantat, the Choir of the University of Lisbon and the Choir Publia Hortênsia.

His curriculum also includes the editing of several record works, as well as the direction of the choir Jovens Vozes de Lisboa (2011 and 2012).

Since 1997, he has been a member of the teaching staff of the Lisbon Superior School of Music and is an accompanying pianist at the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra's Escola Profissional de Música.

 

Angela Silva
Born in Lagos, she has a degree in Canto from the Lisbon Superior School of Music. In London, at Trinity College of Music, he completed a postgraduate and advanced postgraduate degree.

He regularly performs as a soloist in choirs, ensembles and orchestras, namely in the Orquestra Classical do Sul, Orquestra da Cidade, Lisbon Film Orchestra, GNR Symphony Orchestra and Band, Sinfonietta de Lisboa, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Capela Real, Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Northern Orchestra, Academy Classical Orchestra and St. Isidoro Symphony Orchestra.
