The Qatar Medium and Long Distance Athletics team chose the Algarve to carry out an internship between the 20th of March and the 15th of April, with the team training at the High Performance Center of Vila Real de Santo António, staying in Monte Gordo.
This internship in Portugal "is mainly due to the tranquility of our country and our excellent infrastructure, in an initiative that consolidates the internationalization strategy of the LGSP Sports by Lufthansa LGSP brand and gives hope for the resumption of the country's tourist and economic activity", he stresses the LGSP Sports by Lufthansa LGSP.
Qatar's Athletics team is preparing for some competitions in Europe and for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Paulo Geisler, LGSP administrator, emphasizes the fact that, despite the difficult times of the pandemic, «even so, the LGSP
Sports by Lufthansa LGSP managed to bring the team from Qatar to Portugal to prepare”.
«We do not stop promoting Portugal as an excellent destination for this type of internship. It is important to maintain resilience and invest in the future", adds the official.
The Sports Complex of Vila Real de Santo António, in the Eastern Algarve, is an outstanding training center for national and international professional teams in a wide variety of sports.
The sports complex has all the technical equipment for perfect training, surrounded by forest and beside the beach of Monte Gordo.
