Alcoutim's City Council and Santa Casa da Misericórdia will celebrate a collaboration agreement aimed at the treatment of citizens in the area of oral health. The signing of the protocol was approved on Wednesday, March 3, at a chamber meeting.
Within the scope of the oral health program, the municipality of Alcoutim transfers a sum of 10 thousand euros to the local Santa Casa da Misericórdia, with the objective of preventing, diagnosing and treating, in the area of oral health, the low-income population.
Citizens will be referred for consultations through the Municipality's Office of Social Action, Health and Education, which will contact nurseries, schools, homes and day centers and the population in general to survey the intervention needs and conditions socio-economic conditions of households.
For its part, Santa Casa da Misericórdia is responsible for ensuring the treatment of residents.
This initiative complements the service provided by the National Health Service (SNS) and which is insufficient to meet all the needs of the municipality in the area of dentistry.
