Mercado Abastecedor is helping the Food Bank to support 8500 families in the Algarve

Partnership between MARF and the Food Bank has been in place since 2013 and has already allowed the collection of 150 tons of foodstuffs

Donations from companies operating in the Supply Market in the Region of Faro (MARF) are allowing the Food Bank Against Hunger of the Algarve to support 8500 families in the region, he revealed the Algarve food logistics center.

A partnership between MARF and the food bank “allows for the collection of fruits and vegetables twice a week, thus avoiding waste and helping to improve the daily lives of the neediest families, at a time of pandemic”.

The collaboration between the two entities has existed since 2013. Since then, the BACF in the Algarve has collected «more than 150 tons of food products» under the partnership, revealed the MARF.

MARF is a public company owned by SIMAB, PARPÚBLICA group, and by the Chamber of Faro, bringing together more than a hundred operators in an area corresponding to 32 football fields.
