Farense made official, on the afternoon of Monday, February 1st, the departure of Sérgio Vieira from the technical command of the team. Jorge Costa, who has already said goodbye to Gaz Metan from Romania, should be the next coach of the “Lions of Faro".

In a post published on the club's social networks, Farense “communicates that it has reached an agreement with the technical team and coach Sérgio Vieira for the end of their contractual relationship, and the parties are finalizing the said revocation agreement”.

In the publication, the club recalls «all the commitment, dedication and professionalism that led Sporting Clube Farense to the Premier League, after long and painful years» and «profoundly thanks coach Sérgio Vieira and his team, wishing many future sporting and personal successes».

Jorge Costa will be Sergio Vieira's successor, and the coach, who guided Olhanense in the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons, should arrive in the Algarve in the next few days.

In a press conference today, in Romania, Jorge Costa confirmed the departure of Gaz Metan, adding that he received a call from a Portuguese club, without specifying, even so, the name of Farense.

The return to Portugal was, in fact, one of the reasons invoked by the coach to leave the Romanian team, which is in 9th place in the classification.

Farense, which is last in the Portuguese 4st League, will play next Thursday, February XNUMXth, at home, against Santa Clara.
