Farense secured its first away win, beating Nacional by 3-2, in Madeira Island, in a game counting for the 19th round of the I League. The Algarve came to be winning by two goals, let the Madeirans draw, but ended up getting one more goal and securing three precious points, which allow them to escape, due to their condition, to direct relegation places.

Nacional started better and tried to reach the opposing goal. And he achieved it several times, forcing the goalkeeper of the Algarve to make some important saves.

Farense also created danger and even had what would have been the best opportunity of the first half, on 42 minutes, but Maddi Queta, against the insular goalkeeper, already inside the area, could not open the scoring.

The first part ended shortly after. But, despite Nacional having shot more, the balance was the dominant note of the first half.

Back from the spas, Farense did not take long to create danger. In the 49th minute, Licá shot hard and the Madeirans' goalkeeper defended as he could and in a very unorthodox way.

A series of corners followed and, on the fourth, it was really good: André Pinto, winter reinforcement of the Algarve, headed hard and the ball only stopped inside the goal. It was 1-0 for Farense, in the 51st minute.

On minute 57, it was Rafael Defendi's turn to shine, avoiding a draw by Nacional.

Shortly thereafter, at 62, Ryan Gauld made it 2-0, assisted by Maddi Queta, who scored a “half goal” with a sprint down the left flank and an accurate pass, which unmarked the captain of the Algarve in the heart of the area.

Nacional managed to reduce in the 68th minute, with João Vigário scoring a great goal, from outside the area.

Madeirans believed they could change their fortunes and pressed. And at 83 managed to reach a draw, through Pedro Mendes, a pass from Rochez.

And Pedro Mendes didn't take long to score again… but in his own goal. On minute 86, following a free-kick, the ball is touched by a Farense player and the unlucky forward of the islanders ends up unwittingly deflecting and betraying his goalkeeper.

Until the end, the result did not change, despite the forcing of the home team.

With this result, Farense climbed to 16th place, to the condition, and adds 16 points, when 19 rounds have been played.
