"This vaccination process does not include members of the AHBVP's governing bodies, nor employees of the administrative or logistical areas, the availability of vaccines to active firefighters, on whom the response to the numerous emergencies in the fulfillment of the entrusted missions depends on to the Portimão Fire Department,” added the association.

Firefighters are among the professionals who, «from the very beginning, have remained at the forefront of this pandemic, ensuring the provision of assistance in the most diverse areas of intervention, highlighting the transport of people infected with Covid-19 , with an unparalleled activity, corresponding to the different needs of the population, which in itself offers a work environment conducive to increased risk of infection».

"It is also important to highlight that firefighters infected with Covid-19 can transmit the virus to other firefighters, their families, and all those who benefit from the assistance provided by these women and men," concluded the AHBVP.
