The Câmara de Tavira reinforced the powers it delegates to the parishes of the municipality, a decision that is accompanied by a global financial package of more than 1,2 million euros.
So from January 1st, the different boards will be responsible for the management and maintenance of green spaces; cleaning of roads and public spaces, gutters and sinks, whose areas do not fall within the regular activities of Taviraverde; maintenance, repair and replacement of urban furniture installed in public spaces; management and ongoing maintenance of fairs and markets; carrying out minor repairs in pre-school and 1st Cycle Basic Education establishments, as well as maintaining their surrounding spaces.
With more responsibilities come more euros, in this case 1.246.270, to be distributed among the six parishes.
The biggest slice of this financial cake, 537 thousand euros, will be attributed to the Tavira Parish Council. This is followed by the parishes of Luz and Santo Estêvão (193 thousand euros), Cabanas and Conceição de Tavira (163 thousand euros), Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo (142 thousand euros), Cachopo (136 thousand euros) and Santa Luzia (72.706 euros). ).
“With the adoption of this measure, the autarchy implements the principles of subsidiarity, administrative decentralization and autonomy of the local government”, summarizes the Câmara de Tavira.
