The PSP and the GNR had a disagreement this Monday, in Évora, about which of the two forces is responsible for escorting the vans that transport the vaccines against Covid-19.

The unusual incident took place at the Hospital de Évora, after the van carrying the doses destined for that establishment, coming from Coimbra, had unloaded the material. According to TVI, PSP will then have blocked the distribution van, preventing it from leaving. The Minister of Home Affairs has already called for an urgent inquiry into the incident.

The episode may have occurred due to a conflict of interests, since, on the one hand, the transport of vaccines is in charge of the GNR, but, on the other hand, the PSP has jurisdiction in urban areas.

Minister Eduardo Cabrita also asked the Secretary General of the Internal Security System for "information on the rules for monitoring and clearing the traffic defined to make this distribution happen."
