Lagos invests 1,3 million in the maintenance of green spaces

Provision of services starts in the last quarter of 2021

The Câmara de Lagos will invest more than 1,3 million euros in contracting external services to maintain the municipality's urban green spaces.

"The restoration of flowerbeds and the enhancement of the municipality's gardens, with the change of plants depending on the time of year, as well as the implementation of measures that allow for a more rigorous and tighter inspection regarding the fulfillment of contractual obligations, are some of the characteristics of this new procedure that aims, ultimately, to affirm Lagos as a greener municipality, but also more flowery», emphasizes the Câmara de Lagos.

The new service provision contract will start in the last quarter of 2021 and will last until 2024.

«For this three-year period, we bet on the image and beauty of green spaces, their planning, cleaning and treatment, while also not neglecting the commitment to sustainability, by advocating more adapted green spaces that contribute to the mitigation of climate change and harmony environmental”, adds the municipality.

The specifications foresee the constitution of four lots, distributed between the city, the parish of Odiáxere and the urban area of ​​the parish of Luz.

The public tender, approved at the last Council meeting, has already been approved at the Municipal Assembly and is going to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union (JOUE).
