There is already a post-Brexit agreement in principle between the EU and the UK

Agreement provides for the removal of controversial clauses of a proposed law that nullified parts of the understanding

The British Government announced this Tuesday that it had reached an agreement in principle with the European Union for the post-Brexit period that foresees the removal of the controversial clauses of a bill that annulled parts of the understanding.

Following a meeting between the two parties in Brussels, the United Kingdom and the European Union "may now announce an agreement in principle (…) on the protocol for Ireland and Northern Ireland", reads a statement from the joint committee European Union (EU)-United Kingdom.
