With the curfew scheduled for 23:00 on the night of December 31, João Soares says that, for example, in the case of the Hotel D. José, in Quarteira, where he is director, “it doesn't make sense to keep the offer thinking only at dinner".
Even so, he stresses, “those who spend the night at the hotel will not be affected and we will keep the initiatives already planned. Those who are accommodated, reside at the hotel and can take advantage of our offer. That is our interpretation».
At Hotel D. José, «there will be a gala dinner, with a special menu and live music, but not for dancing. It will be a dinner and not a party».
According to the AHP delegate, "this will be the type of offer that hotels that have overnight packages are offering."
João Soares also emphasizes that "it is important to mention that, throughout the pandemic, hotels have not had cases and with all the rules to which they are subject, with systematic disinfection, the distance between tables, they are safe places".
With all these conditions, João Soares says that hoteliers are "expectations" in relation to occupation, and "at this moment, we have a demand for New Year's Eve of 60%", he concluded.
