The Government warned today that the measure Apoiar Restauração covers the losses of restaurants in the mainland national territory on December 31, aiming to compensate for the shortfalls in invoicing resulting from the operating restrictions announced on Thursday.
Restaurants in mainland territory are only open until 22:30 on the last day of the year and until 13:00 on 1, 2 and 3 January.
"Restaurants will thus be able to compensate 20% of their revenue shortfall, compared to the average of the first weekends of the year 2020, being open to micro, small and medium-sized companies in the catering sector and similar", refers the note to press from the office of the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition.
Apoiar Restauração, a specific aid mechanism for the restoration sector in force since November 25, applies to weekends, holidays and eves of public holidays in which the suspension of activities is in force and is «cumulative with the measure Apoiar .pt”, recalls the ministry led by Siza Vieira.
This measure is part of the APOIAR Programme, which has an endowment of 750 million euros in non-repayable funds, with 38.461 applications having been submitted, up to Friday, with an estimated incentive of 358 million euros, of which approximately approximately has been paid. 98,6 million euros, it adds.
In the restaurant and similar sectors, 12.880 applications have already received, corresponding to a requested support of 142 million and the payments made total more than 35 million euros, says the ministry.
«Access to this program is made through the most simplified application form ever, thus making the experience of filling out and submitting the application more automatic and less time-consuming, both for the promoter and for the respective certified accountants, who, for the first time, within the framework of community funds, they have a dedicated and exclusive access to validate the uploaded information», he says.
The ministry also recalls that applications must be submitted at Balcão Portugal 2020, being selected according to eligibility criteria until the endowment is exhausted.
