3,5 million end up with septic tanks on Armona Island

Work is an «old promise»

The public tender for the contract for the drainage of waste water and for the reinforcement of the water supply in Ilha da Culatra was launched this Thursday, December 17, by AmbiOlhão. This work will make it possible to deactivate the septic tanks that serve the island's dwellings.

The work, which the City of Olhão emphasizes, is «an old and long-awaited promise by the population», has a base value of 3,5 million euros.

The investment consists of remodeling the water supply networks and expanding the wastewater drainage networks, which, according to the municipality, "will make it possible to deactivate the septic tanks that serve the approximately 800 houses on the island".

At the same time, new water supply networks will be built, with a view to reducing losses.
