MARF strengthens facilities and measures against Covid-19

New building that will house DPD Portugal is already built

MARF, the largest public agri-food-based logistics center in the south of the country, located in the municipality of Faro, is reinforcing investment in its infrastructure and in measures to prevent and combat Covid-19. The objective is to reinforce the capacity and flexibility of its operators to respond to the current situation and thus contribute to the creation of jobs and wealth for the region.

Currently, the construction of the new building that will house DPD Portugal, one of the world's largest companies providing postal services and delivery of goods, has been completed, in an investment of around 1,5 million euros.

This new building will allow DPD Portugal to consolidate and grow its presence and logistical operation throughout the Algarve.

In parallel, and to face Covid-19, the levels of hygiene, cleaning and disinfection were reinforced inside and outside the pavilions, together with communication and awareness actions for the permanent use of masks and disinfectant gel, together operators and their customers.

MARF recently presented its accounts for the third quarter of 2020, with consolidated and positive figures confirming a net result of 385,5 thousand euros, corresponding to an annualized return on equity of 4,3% and a net margin on operating income of 33%.

MARF is a public company owned by SIMAB, the PARPÚBLICA group and the City Council of Faro, bringing together more than a hundred operators in an area corresponding to 32 football fields.
