Coviran ended the month of October with the opening of a new supermarket in the district Faro, in the Quinta da Bemposta urbanization, in Portimão.
The new store has a sales area of 80 square meters, a cash counter and «gathers the best conditions for customers to comfortably make their daily purchases, closer to their homes, without the need for long trips or wasting time », stresses this supermarket cooperative.
Casimiro Gil, with the new supermarket Loja 2, has created two jobs and offers its customers the sections of a nearby supermarket: a delicatessen, a fruit shop and a bakery.
Coviran is present throughout the national territory, in the 18 districts and in the two autonomous island regions, corresponding to the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira.
The Coviran project in Portugal already contributes 10% of the cooperative's social mass and occupies a relevant space in the Portuguese distribution sector, standing out its second position in the proximity model, supermarkets with less than 300 square meters of sales area, with a market share of 6,4%.

In order to provide an efficient and close response to this diversity of supermarkets and geographic areas, Coviran has developed a powerful logistics network much needed in its proximity-based business model.
It has three distribution platforms in Portugal, covering a total of 56.158 square meters. One is located in the north (Vila do Conde), another in the south of the country (Algoz) and the last in Sintra-Lisbon, thus covering the entire territory. This last platform houses the administrative headquarters of Coviran in Portugal.
The Cooperative is a purchasing center and also a service center for all its members, both in Portugal and in Spain. The objective is to offer associates, regardless of where they operate, all the elements necessary to enjoy a profitable and successful business model, capable of providing the best service to its customers, thus achieving their full satisfaction.
Coviran is a food distribution company, comprising more than 2.855 supermarkets and 2.427 independent retail partners in this sector, distributed mainly in Spain and Portugal.
In Portugal, it has a total of 292 supermarkets located in all districts, in the Azores and Madeira, and three logistic platforms, which guarantee full coverage of the national territory in Sintra, Vila do Conde and Algoz.
