A playful fisherman's body found in the sea near Lagoa beach

Man will have fallen overboard while fishing on a cliff

The body of a playful fisherman who had fallen overboard while fishing on a cliff on Estaquinha beach, in Lagoa, was recovered yesterday by the boat from the Ferragudo Station. The victim appeared to be "between 60 and 70 years old".

According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alert to the existence of a body floating in the sea, near this bathing area, was given during yesterday afternoon.

The vessel “SR-43” from Ferragudo's Life Saving Station was sent to the location, which found and rescued the corpse, then transported it to the marina in Portimão.

«The death was declared on the spot by the Lagoa Health Delegate, and the body was then transported by an ambulance from the Fire Department of Portimão to the Institute of Legal Medicine of Portimão», revealed the AMN.

The Maritime Police of Portimão took care of the incident.
