SEIVA takes “Water and Biodiversity – from Theory to Practice” to schools in the Algarve

The program provides for training actions, workshops and environmental volunteer activities, among others

The Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) is promoting “Water and Biodiversity – from Theory to Practice”, during the Education Week and Environmental Volunteer Initiatives (SEIVA), which will run until tomorrow, the 21st, and involve communities schools in the Algarve.

In 2020, APA's Algarve regional delegation took advantage of the fact that the Algarve Regional Water Efficiency Plan was presented about a month ago to put water at the center of the discussion and confront the region's school communities with this theme .

«During the course of the initiative, training actions, workshops, environmental volunteering activities (environmental monitoring, removal of invasive plants, cleaning and waste recovery actions), visits to infrastructure and environmental education equipment, a session of games are planned. board, in addition to online video projection sessions and exhibitions on environmental themes», describe the event's organizers.

SEIVA's main target is school communities, «in particular, primary and secondary education teachers, technicians from regional and local public administration, companies, environmental non-governmental organizations and business, professional, cultural and recreational associations, among others» .
