Cristiano Cabrita re-elected president of PSD Albufeira

Opposing list received a third of the votes

Cristiano Cabrita was re-elected this Saturday, president of one of the biggest sections of the PSD in the Algarve, Albufeira, with 63,31% of the votes.

With two lists vying for leadership, the list opposing the current president, led by Cláudia Guedelha, councilor of the Albufeira City Council, coordinator of the Social Democratic Women of Albufeira and also a member of the District Political Commission, obtained 35,50% of the votes .

The vice-presidencies of the Section Political Committee are entrusted to Helena Simões and Nuno Lisboa. The executive body is completed by Carlos Quintino, secretary, and Dário Pereira, treasurer.

José Carlos Rolo, president of the Albufeira City Council, will be the president of the Board of the Assembly of Militants, and the body also has the vice-presidency of Ana Pífaro, which also performs the same functions in the municipality of Albufeira. The list also includes Ana Mendonça, secretary, and David Duarte, alternate.

The new council bodies will meet next week and the date of the inauguration ceremony will soon be announced.

Biography:

Cristiano Cabrita has a doctorate in Political Science and International Relations, a master's degree in International Relations, a postgraduate degree in European Studies and a degree in International Relations.

Professor of International Relations at Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, where he is the chair of Introduction to International Relations and Theory of International Relations.

Integrated Researcher at CLIPIS – Lusíada Center for Research in International Policy and Security and Associate Researcher at CIEP – Research Center of the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University.

Since 2013, he has been head of the Communication, Public Relations and International Relations Office at Albufeira Municipality.

At the political level, he is president of the PSD Albufeira, was a municipal deputy, candidate of the PSD Algarve to the 2019 Europeans and is currently, at national level, a member of the PSD International Relations Committee and of the National Strategic Council (External Relations area), where collaborates with professor Tiago Moreira de Sá.
