“Variations” and “Light'20 Classics” animate Albufeira Municipal Auditorium

“Clássicos Light'20”, by Orquestra Clássica do Sul, on the 18th of September, and the band from the film “Variações”, on the 26th, mark the reopening of the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium. 

This space is open to the public again this month, under the terms currently defined by the General Directorate of Health.

«We comply with all existing norms and are committed to reactivating the Auditorium's programming», defends José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, thinking, «on the one hand, of cultural professionals and, on the other, of the already thirsty public of cultural manifestations, because without them one cannot live, nor would any of this make much sense».

The concert by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul is already on the 18th of the month, as part of the cycle “Clássicos Light'20”, with works by several composers, and will have guest conductor John Avery.

On September 26th there will be the Film Band 'Variações' which joins Sérgio Praia (actor who plays the role of António Variações in the film), musicians Duarte Cabaça, David Santos, Vasco Duarte and Armando Teixeira, music producer responsible for the soundtrack of the film. film.

This production marks the debut of Sérgio Praia as a singer and the return of the musician, composer and producer Armando Teixeira, who, through the famous António Variações cassettes, embodied the songs he had recorded in the garage, with amateur musicians, at the end of the years 70.

'Tama o pill', 'Teia', 'I lost memory', 'Canção do engee' or 'Quero da nos vista', an unprecedented theme found in the collection of António Variações, are some of the themes that make up the soundtrack of the film and will be presented live.

Both concerts are for over 6 years old. Tickets cost 5 euros and can be purchased at Galeria Municipal João Bailote (next to the Auditorium), on weekdays, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:00 pm.

If there is still availability, seats can also be purchased on the day of the show, at the Municipal Auditorium, between 19:30 pm and 21:15 pm.
