New course for osteopaths with provisional card available at Piaget de Silves

Professionals have two years to regularize their situation

In the year in which Portugal trains the first licensed osteopaths, the Piaget Institute creates a course for current professionals who are working under a provisional certificate, who have two years to regularize their situation. Silves is one of the university centers where the new course is available.

According to Law No. 109/2019, of September 9, this year the deadline for osteopaths holding a provisional card to complete their training, in order to comply with the requirements of the ACSS - Central Administration of the System begins to run. to obtain your definitive professional card.

According to a resolution of the ACSS, provisional Osteopathy certificates are valid for a period of two years, counting from the date of departure of the first graduate in this area in Portugal.

Hence, professionals currently working must obtain the necessary complementary training in a higher education establishment that offers degrees within the scope of regulated Non-Conventional Therapies (TNC).

In order to respond to this need, the Piaget Institute created a new course for osteopaths with a provisional card, with curricular units specifically selected according to the profile of each professional.

The course is available at the centers of Silves and Vila Nova de Gaia, being taught by the faculty of the degree in Osteopathy at the Piaget Institute.

After registration, the coordination of the Osteopathy degree will analyze the curricula and supporting documentation of each professional in practice, proposing to the direction of the respective School and to the Technical-Scientific Council which curricular units will be attended by each osteopath.

Depending on the training and professional profile of each one, the curricular units to be attended may focus more on the theoretical scientific area of Osteopathy or more on the professional scientific area.
