Woman who injured her knee on the beach in Alvor helped by the Maritime Authority

Woman was transported off the sand by the Amarok vehicle of the “SeaWatch” project

A 60-year-old woman who injured her knee while going to a bath yesterday at Praia de Alvor, in Portimão, was helped by elements of the “SeaWatch” project by the National Maritime Authority (AMN), and was eventually transported to the hospital.

According to AMN, the woman complained of pain in her knee "after having falsely stepped on a sling while entering the sea".

The lifeguards of Praia de Alvor alerted to the situation, having activated the Amarok vehicle of the “SeaWatch” project, “which carried out the immobilization and transport of the victim off the beach, where an ambulance of the Firefighters Volunteers of Portimão was waiting” .

"The victim was transported to a hospital by the Voluntary Fire Department of Portimão," AMN concluded.
