Government reinforces bonuses and encourages pre-retirement of civil servants

About a third of civil servants are over 55 years of age and the teaching class is one of those with the highest rates of aging

The Government wants to rejuvenate the Civil Service and for that it is resorting to the idea of pre-retirement, which should have advanced this year, but which remained in the drawer for negotiation with the representative unions of the State.

In the Major Options of the 2021-2023 Plan (GOP) it is foreseen that this will happen, in the services where it may occur.

"The Government will implement active pre-retirement policies in the sectors and functions that justify it, contributing to the rejuvenation of personnel and permanent staff", reads the document to which JN/Dinheiro Vivo had access.

In other words, this regime will not be open to all State workers, with the Education area being at the forefront, taking into account the aging of the teaching staff.
