The photographic exhibition “Silves, da Serra ao Mar”, by André Boto, from Silva, is on display until 30 September at the Igreja da Misericórdia.
The exhibition, which results from the challenge launched by the Municipality of Silves to André Boto, «photographer of recognized national and international merit, born in Silves», was inaugurated on 4 September.
As the municipality explains, «this is a photographic project to revitalize the municipality's image, which will serve as the basis for the municipality's photographic bank and which covers, in the fifty records collected, a diverse range of photographic typologies, including architecture and interior photography, landscape, photojournalism, among others are included».
Through this photographic set, the municipality intends to “make known, in the true sense of the expression, “Silves da Serra ao Mar”, in a journey that takes the visitor to know more about the nooks and crannies of the mountains, but also about other places that they mediate our route to the sea, with dams, diversified historical heritage, cultural facilities, typical places and streets and some of our main economic activities, so intrinsically related to oranges and Silves wines».
