João César Accordion Festival returns to give music to TEMPO

Initiative by the Parish of Portimão

The 6th João César Accordion Festival takes place this Saturday, September 19, from 21 pm, at TEMPO – Teatro Municipal de Portimão. 

This year, the following guests will be on stage: Rodrigo Maurício, David Duarte, Duo Casal and David Mendonça.

With this initiative, the executive of the Parish of Portimão intends to keep alive the memory of the musician João César, who contributed so much to honor the name of Portimão and its citizens.

Admission is free, but subject to collection of invitations at the TEMPO ticket office from Tuesday to Saturday between 13:00 pm and 18:00 pm.

This year, the event, which has the partnership of Alvor FM, will also be broadcast live over the Internet through the Parish of Portimão's Facebook page.

The festival, guarantees the Parish Council of Portimão, "takes into account the exact fulfillment of all norms recommended by the Directorate-General of Health. The space for the performance of the show will meet the possible capacity imposed by law and will be duly delimited".

The auditorium “will still be carefully disinfected and the use of a mask will be mandatory”.

Considered an icon of music in the Algarve, João César was born on April 14, 1943, in Portimão. He started playing solo at age 16, and also in musical groups, performing in hotels and ballrooms all over the country.

João César has always collaborated with all musical expression groups in his land.
