Algarve clubs will be able to test Covid-19 at a cheaper price

The main objective of this initiative is to implement "measures to combat Covid-19"

The Algarve Football Association (AFA) and the Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) signed, this Thursday, 17 September, a protocol that will allow Algarve clubs, in case of need, to test Covid-19 to a single cheaper price.

The main objective of this initiative is to implement "measures to combat Covid-19", at a time when district football and futsal competitions have not yet started.

Thus, in addition to the synergies initiated in the context of pedagogical training and support for themes and areas related to the pandemic, all sports agents affiliated with AF Algarve will have, in case of need, access to Covid-19 diagnostic tests for a much lower value compared to that practiced in the National Health System.

“This protocol will allow Algarve clubs to use an installed capacity in the region, through AD-ABC, so that they can carry out tests on Covid-19. In this way, we are enabling AF Algarve affiliates that these tests can be carried out at controlled costs and, with this, minimize this possible impact, allowing them to continue to develop their activity in safety», refers Nuno Marques, president of ABC.

The protocol was signed in the auditorium of the AF Algarve headquarters, in Faro, and was attended by Reinaldo Teixeira and João Pedro Gomes, chairman and vice-president of the board, Carlos Roque Figueira and José Manuel Martins, members of the board of directors of this body, and Nuno Marques.
