“365Algarve” starts October with Ventania, music from India and Jazz in the Cellars

Between the 1th and 4th of October

A gale of performing arts, three musician brothers from Rajasthan, jazz in the cellars and performing tours in heritage are some of the suggestions of the “365Algarve” program for the first four days of October.

On the first day of next month it will be inaugurated in the foyer of Teatro das Figuras, in Faro, the photography exhibition Resgate/Procura, by Vasco Célio, an initiative included in the Festival Encontros do DeVIR which can be visited until 15 November.

This exhibition «is a complement and is another way to present the project developed and presented in loco on the island of Culatra, which combines heritage (material/immaterial) and world-renowned research, carried out by teams of researchers from the University of Algarve who are address urgent issues relating to the safeguard of this island, "according to "365Algarve".

Between the 2nd and 4th of October, Ventania – Barlavento Performing Arts Festival returns.

On October 2nd, at 20 pm, there will be a Music & Food Experience session between the Museum of Portimão Auditorium and the Faina restaurant.

On the same day, in Lagos, there is a new presentation of the performance “O2 Oxigen” that unites the languages ​​of physical theater and animated forms.

On October 3, in Portimão, the KALE dance company presents its new creation, “Terras”.

In Lagoa, on the same day, the contemporary circus show “Atempo” will be presented.

This is followed, on 4 October, in Lagos, with «a cross between installation, public art and performance», with the show “Água”, «a creation by André Braga and Cláudia Figueiredo, of the Circolando company».

On October 3rd and 4th, in Aljezur, there is a new show with the seal of Lavrar o Mar, a concert by the Amrat Hussain Brothers Trio, a group composed of three brothers from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

On the 3rd, a Saturday, “there will be a session dedicated to children, where they will sing, play and tell stories of this secular family”.

Because, explains “365Algarve”, “these three brothers received the music from their elders and, this time, they are the ones passing on the mystical melodies and the warm rhythms of the tablas to the younger ones”.

On Sunday, the Indian musical formation invites the public “to discover classical music and Sufi, from North India. Amrat Hussain, Teepu Khan and Sanjav Khan form a rare ensemble whose musical heritage, already seven generations old, was bequeathed to them by their father and grandfathers, a prestigious family of gypsy Indian musicians».

Also on the 3rd and 4th of October, there is Jazz in Adegas, in Silves, and Percursos Percursos no Património, in Lagoa.

In the first case, the guest band is the Quarteto Luís Bastos and the winery that of Quinta João Clara, in Alcantarilha.

This band will interpret jazz and bossa nova classics in two sessions, one scheduled for the 3rd, at 21:00 pm, and the other scheduled for Sunday, the 4th, at 17:00 pm.

Meanwhile, in Lagoa, there are Performative Routes in Heritage, an initiative in which the municipality of Lagoa «proposes a set of thematic walking routes that are supported by a historical narrative».

This time route 1 will be explored, “1520-2020: 500 years of the place of Ferragudo”, which “constitutes a tour through the five centuries of history” of this town.
