A 71-year-old man was rescued from the sea, late this Friday morning, on the beach at Armação de Pêra, in the Algarve. The quick and coordinated action of the lifeguards was decisive and, after the rescue, the bathers present on the beach cheered us with a huge round of applause.

The rescue took place shortly after midday, at Praia Grande de Armação de Pêra. Bruna Teixeira, one of the lifeguards, from AquaForm, a company specialized in assisting bathers, in service on that beach, told JN that she realized that the septuagenarian, born in Póvoa de Varzim, was in difficulties "at the right time".
