Carrapateira has a new tourist information office, which allows «to provide a better face-to-face service, more personalized and with detailed information on the most diverse local issues», announced the Parish Council of Bordeira, which installed the service in partnership with the City Council of Aljezur.
The “small tourist information office” is installed in a building in the Mercado Square of the village of Carrapateira and, among other tourist products, promotes “walking routes, cultural and natural heritage, beach routes, museology, surfing, restaurants and accommodation”.
In order for visitors to have a better idea of what to expect, the board made a film “with an overview of the entire parish, which illustrates and highlights its most relevant aspects”.
«The Parish of Bordeira is located further south in the Municipality of Aljezur, its entire coastline is part of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina. We intend with these entities to maintain a close relationship and collaboration», according to the Bordeira Parish Council.
The parish is «endowed with a valuable natural heritage linked to the sea and the mountains.
On the coast, there are «large and beautiful beaches to enjoy and with excellent conditions for surfing and other related sports, (Amado, Bordeira and Vale Figueiras)».
On the side more connected to the countryside and nature, in addition to being crossed by the Rota Vicentina route, there are five more circular trails connected to this route, within its territory, «which allow hikers and nature lovers to stay with us longer. some time, and be dazzled as you travel through all these areas of beautiful and jagged landscapes and with varied flora and fauna».
