Vila do Bispo Council supports the permanent intervention and rescue team of the Volunteer Fire Brigade

Plus an annual support of 70 thousand euros

The Municipality of Vila do Bispo signed a collaboration protocol with the municipality's Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters, last July, which provides for a municipal contribution in the amount of 70 thousand euros per year, to guarantee the operationalization of a permanent intervention team and help in the municipality.

The permanent intervention and rescue team is made up of five elements and aims to ensure, at all times and in readiness, coverage of 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the civil protection and relief missions to the population of Vila do Bispo .

The team can be called to intervene in cases of fire, floods, landslides, collisions, shipwrecks, low and wide angle rescue, victims in the context of pre-hospital emergency, minimization of risks in situations of forecast or occurrence of a serious accident or others interventions in the field of Civil Protection.

For the mayor Adelino Soares, «the Municipality of Vila do Bispo thus materializes the concern of its executive in the area of ​​Civil Protection and the continuous support to the Voluntary Fire Brigade to ensure an even more effective response to emergency situations in the municipality. , thus, another important support given to safeguard people and goods».

This is another financial charge that adds to the annual support in the amount of 319.871,16 euros that the City Council allocates to the municipality's Fire Brigade, within the scope of a permanent collaboration protocol signed between the two entities.

The Municipality also ensures the financial expenses with the Fire Department insurance policy and 70% of the costs with the transport of patients and people with specific problems of reduced mobility and with proven economic disability.

The Municipality also assumes an annual support of 10.385,43 euros, for the purchase of uniforms, among other occasional support.
