Boat stranded with 11 Frenchmen rescued at Afurada beach

On the boat were five children and six adults

A maritime-tourist rental vessel, with 11 Frenchmen on board, and which was stranded, was rescued this Saturday, August 22, at 13:05 pm, by the Ferragudo lifeguard, on Afurada beach, in the municipality of Lagoa.

On the boat were five children and six adults.

“The elements of the Ferragudo Life-Saving Station rescued the 11 people who were on the boat that ran aground, transporting them to the marina in Portimão, not requiring medical care,” says the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

"The crashed vessel was removed by the Life-Saving Station to avoid its loss or the possible risk of pollution," he adds.

Five operatives were involved in this action with a boat and a personal watercraft from the Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos (ISN), two agents with a vessel from the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão and a lifeguard from Praia dos Caneiros.
