In parallel, irrigated crops are grown on the property, for the production of tomatoes, peppers, onions, and aromatic plants, which are used in the hotel's cuisine.

«Thanks to the conditions mentioned above and the hospitality of the staff, the tourist year, after forced closure by the absence of tourist activity, has proved to be very encouraging», guarantees Hélder Martins, general director of the unit.

As for nationalities, the Portuguese continue to be the main one, this year followed by the Spanish, French and Dutch.

Last Thursday, customers participated in the carob harvest. “They accompanied a team of farmers who conveyed all of their know-how and it was a very exciting experience. At the end of the work, in "adiafa" style, a lunch was held where they could taste various delicacies, many based on carob, such as carob bread and pie, and, to accompany the coffee, a carob liqueur produced in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo», tells the general director.

The next activity of this kind will be olive picking, respective transformation (crushed) and olive oil tasting. This action should take place at the end of October.
