During a meeting between the board of ÚNICA and the president of the Chamber

A ÚNICA – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve distinguished the Câmara de Lagoa with the title of honorary cooperator for the support that the municipality has given to vineyards and wine.

The award was given during a meeting between Maria Alice Saraiva and Jorge Matias, respectively president and member of the board of directors of ÚNICA, and Luís Encarnação, president of the Lagoa Council, a meeting that also served for the two entities to “discuss cooperation strategies “joint”, according to the Lagoa municipality.

ÚNICA's initiative is “recognition for the invaluable collaboration and support provided by the Municipality in recent years to the revitalization of the Adega Cooperativa do Algarve activity”, according to Maria Alice Saraiva.

The director also added that "the acknowledgment was presented on behalf of all employees of the winery."

Luís Encarnação thanked the Municipality for the distinction, underlining “the historical importance of the Unique Adega for the municipality and for the implementation of the strategy and projection of the wine-growing activity”.

He also referred to strategic projects in which both institutions have been committed, naming, by way of example, “The city of wine”, the “National Wine Contest” and the election of the “Miss vintages”.

«The achievement of several international wine awards and the exponential increase in new producers in Lagoa, Algarve, are not unrelated to this successful partnership between the Municipality and ÚNICA» said Luís Encarnação, who assured that he remains available to continue supporting the cooperative, as well as other producers in the municipality.
