365 Algarve takes Picnic de Charme to Santo Estêvão and Street Art to Lagos

Proposals for this Saturday from 365 Algarve

On Saturday, the Charm Picnic of the Forgotten Food Festival heads to Santo Estêvão, in Tavira. The initiative, which debuted this year at 365 Algarve, offers participants picnics inspired by the 30s and 40s. Saturday will also be the day of another session at the Street Art Lab, in Lagos, and another trip (A) Arrest me in the Algarve, this time starting at Jardim Municipal de Algoz, at 18:00.

Starting with Santo Estêvão, «the Charm Picnic experience includes a meal full of aromas from other times, with local products and gastronomic surprises, some of which are difficult to access or forgotten from our table».

According to the 365 Algarve programme, «the symbolic instrument of the Algarve – The Accordion – will also be the protagonist with a performance during the picnic, as was done in other times, and giving more animation to these rural evenings».

The Chef will explain the meal's menu, as well as the local and traditional products that were used in its preparation. All explanations will be translated into English by a Master of Ceremonies who will be present at all actions, available to clarify all foreign and national participants in case of doubts.

The Street Art Lab, in Lagos, builds on the old jail, «an emblematic historical building that is today a cultural space dedicated to artistic experimentation». It is here that «a journey of discovery of the city's urban art begins».

«Through a guided tour of the works of some of the most representative artists of the contemporary urban art scene, the participant is challenged to discover the murals of this canvas city, while contacting with other characteristics that give Lagos its cultural importance , historical and artistic».

This Saturday's program includes experimentation and creation activities, guided by a guest artist, and materials such as stencils, paints, spray, paper, among others, are available. In the end, the participant is left with the creative work they have done.

The other proposal for this Saturday from 365 Algarve, in Algoz, (A) Trapping me in the Algarve, «is a journey through time to revisit the Algarve of yesteryear, talking about the heritage, customs, traditions and musicalities that built it» .

On the 29th of August, the show begins with a staged visit to the respective places, and from there onwards, the presentation of the history of the Algarve, its people and its traditions takes place. Time travel is interspersed with old-time songs and a craft workshop.
