Inter-Vivos returns to senior futsal, continuing to focus on training

Clube de Martim Longo reacts to difficulties

The Inter-Vivos Association, based in Martim Longo (Alcoutim) is preparing to return to the 2020/2021 season in full force, presenting a senior Futsal team next season, after ten interregnum seasons, and continuing the training levels, competing with the Benjamins and Youth team.

The return of the Senior level happens “due to the desire of the board to have a senior futsal team in the club” and because “we have to have a natural sequence for our training levels”, justifies the president André Martins.

For the manager, the new project "basically based on training", it is to which the club will give "special attention" and in the next season, at least four junior players will join the Senior team, stating that "the team senior will have more or less quality depending on the quality of training we are able to do”.

The squad for 2020/2021 will be made up of a mix of players coming from the formation and “players from the land”. Associação Inter-Vivos is a prestigious futsal club, since, “despite the constraints of a limited budget, a location that requires large trips and the limitation of a territory with few young people to train, it has won many titles in the various levels and with them, the village of Martim Longo and the region are favored”, explains the club.

The financial support signed with the Alcoutim Chamber, the membership fee and the companies sponsoring this sport are the main sources of income for the club.

In addition to futsal, Inter-Vivos also sponsor athletics, motorcycling and fishing. “We intend to continue to create more sections in the Association, to give the municipality's youth more chances to practice sports”.

For the future, the guideline is outlined: “We intend to have a good offer so that young people in the county can practice sports, work with quality in training and, as a consequence, have good futsal teams, and not set unachievable goals or hard to reach. Let's go step by step, without skipping steps”, summarizes the president of the Association.
