From the Algarve Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira were in Calheta preparing “Rally Vinho da Madeira”

«We were always trying things out in the car thinking of the Madeira Wine Rally»

Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira competed in the Rally da Calheta, this Saturday, 18 July, as a way of preparing for the next competition of the Portugal Rally Championship (CPR): the Madeira Wine Rally. The Team Vito Skoda duo was ranked 3rd among the teams that dispute the CPR and tested solutions for the Madeira specials.

The Calheta Rally was the testing stage for several competitors of the Portugal Rally Championship who are already thinking about the third race of the season – the Madeira Wine Rally. Ricardo Teodósio and José Teixeira traveled to the island of Madeira in order to test as many solutions as possible in the set-up of the Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, obtaining 6th place overall and 3rd place among the teams that intend to compete in the entire CPR.

«We were always trying things out in the car, thinking of the Madeira Wine Rally», revealed the national champion.

“We didn't even look at the times of direct competition, because we knew it was very important to constantly change the set-up of our Skoda to understand what worked and what didn't work in these qualifyings under different conditions. We fulfilled the goal 100% and now we are going to carry out just a small test before the Rally Vinho da Madeira, to validate what we have discovered in this rally», said Ricardo Teodósio, who took the podium in the first two rallies of the season, in Fafe/Felgueiras and Castelo Branco.
