Sciaena and Route join art and ocean preservation in online initiative

Event mixed two concepts: Mar Motto (organized by the Sciaena association) and Artivism Route Week (AWR), organized by Route

Sciaena, in partnership with the Route association, is presenting, throughout the month of June, an online initiative that brings together art and the preservation of the oceans.

The event mixed two concepts: Mar Motto (organized by the Sciaena association) and Artivism Route Week (AWR), organized by Route.

Sciaena, for example, “focuses on marine conservation and environmental awareness, and believes in the power of art as a tool to communicate about the natural world and the threats it faces. This is how the concept of Mar Motto emerged, where Art is used as a means to convey the message of ocean conservation in a simple, incisive and creative way, seeking to be the basis for a community to generate concrete changes».

Route's mission is to promote the arts, community services, education and awareness to preserve the health of the world's oceans, beaches and marine life. ARW was, moreover, created to dedicate a week to the promotion of art as a means of questioning and raising awareness about the impacts of our consumption habits on the environment».

Therefore, both associations have joined forces to create this new event which consists of weekly online sessions with art and music throughout the month of June.

Each session will be held in a different country, with live performances by visual artists and musicians through Youtube, Facebook and Mar Motto and AWR websites.

After the first session with the artist “Corte Art Works” and the music of “Solo Jons”, in Pamplona (Spain), the festival will continue, on the 13th, to California, in the United States of America.

On the 20th, Brazil will be highlighted and, finally, on the 27th, Portugal.
