Applications for the 2020 edition of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize, promoted by the Portimão Chamber, open this Wednesday, June 10th.
The award, open to the telenovela modality, «intends to distinguish unpublished works, with the aim of stimulating literary creation, while at the same time honoring the writer-President of the Republic, born in Portimão and patron of the Award, whose life and work meet closely linked to the River Arade and the Algarve.
The works in competition, with a maximum of 100 pages, must be unpublished and written in Portuguese, being submitted in PDF on this platform until 23:59, on the 14th of August.
"After the decision of the jury of the event, made up of three individuals of recognized merit, the winning soap opera will be officially released during the next month of December, as part of the celebrations of the Day of the City of Portimão", says the City Council.
300 copies of the winning work will be published, to which will be added a monetary prize, in the amount of one thousand euros, for the author.
