Câmara de Lagoa receives masks offered by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China

1000 masks were sent

Last Friday, Lagoa City Council received 1000 surgical masks, offered by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, in a manifestation of concern for the workers of this municipality in the Algarve.

"Lagoa and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China have been building and strengthening relations of cooperation and bonds of friendship that are expected to continue and deepen strategic relations in the field of international relations," stresses the Chamber, in a press release.

The fact that the last Governor of Macau under Portuguese administration, General Rocha Vieira, was born in Lagos is not strange to this good relationship.

1000 surgical masks type I were sent, certified according to standard EN: 14683:2019 and meeting the essential requirements of European Directive No. 93/42/EEC, of June 14, 1993, relating to medical devices.

"In this way, employees will be able to continue to work on behalf of citizens, maintaining a safe environment for all", stresses the municipality.

Chamber president Luís Encarnação defends “the interest in maintaining the line of understanding in the deepening of the bonds of friendship” and has already expressed his gratitude for the “effort made in the offer made by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China”.

«The virus knows no borders and this is an invisible enemy, which must be fought with the effort of all, together and in cooperation», concludes the note from the Lagoa municipality.
