Municipalities deliver ventilators to the Algarve University Hospital Center

Delivery takes place at 15:00 pm, at the Hospital de Faro

The Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL) will deliver, this Tuesday, 26th of May, 20 invasive ventilators to the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA).

Delivery takes place at 15:00 pm, at the Hospital de Faro, and counts on the presence of the Algarve's mayors.

These fans, S1 100 Superstar, correspond to the first 20 of the 30 that were purchased. The remaining 10 should arrive in our country on the next flight from China to Portugal.

The 16 Municipal Councils of the Algarve transferred to the Academic Center for Research and Biomedical Training of the Algarve (ABC) around two million euros for the acquisition of equipment and materials needed by hospitals in the region in the fight against Covid-19.

The list included 30 invasive ventilators and personal protective material such as masks, gloves and suits.

AMAL's contribution resulted from a meeting it had with the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve and the University Hospital Center of the Algarve, in which it expressed its availability to help in whatever way it could to meet any needs in the fight against Covid-19.
