The Municipality of Alcoutim saw the approval, on the 9th of March, of an application to the Action Plan for the Development of Endogenous Resources (PADRE) which provides for the urban renewal of the area surrounding the church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, in Giões.
In the square surrounding the church, the existing pavement will be replaced by a Portuguese sidewalk, and a cross will also be implemented.
The operation also comprises an Interactive digital outdoor MUPPI, WIFI Hotspot to promote existing endogenous products and resources and the installation of a WIFI network with free access.
The application “is framed in the CRESC Algarve 2020 Operational Program, priority 5 – investing in employment, thematic objective 8 – promoting sustainability and quality of employment and supporting the mobility of workers, investment priority – 8.9. – Supporting employment-friendly growth, through the development of endogenous potential as part of a territorial strategy for specific areas, including the conservation of declining industrial regions and the development of certain natural and cultural resources and their accessibility, with investment included in the Action Plan for the Development of Endogenous Resources (PADRE), in its reprogramming», explains the Chamber of Alcoutim.
The operation, which is expected to be concluded by December 31st, has an eligible investment of 172.500 euros, to which a community contribution (FEDER) of 120.750 euros was attributed.
