Gabriel de Rose and 16 other musicians record anthem “Portimão, Terra- Mãe”

Challenge launched by the Parish Council of Portimão, Rádio Alvor and Londur International

«A Hymn to Portimão and to the Portimão, a form of thanks to all»: this was the challenge launched by the Parish Council of Portimão, Rádio Alvor and Londur International, to produce a song that reflects the rebirth of this «proud city Algarve, full of sun and positive energy», after the pandemic.

The chosen one for the production of the lyrics and music was the singer Gabriel de Rose, finalist of the program The Voice, on RTP 1, in 2019, who were joined by 16 singers and musicians from Portimão, who recorded “Portimão, Terra- Mãe”, song inspired by this city in the Algarve.

With the release of the song and a video clip, which had the collaboration of well-known Portimons, in the Portuguese art scene, and anonymous people from Portimão, the executive of the Parish Council of Portimão claims to pay «a simple, but very heartfelt, tribute to the city and to its customers».

It is an anthem dedicated "to all those who, in a collective effort, resisted and complied with the confinement rules, a fundamental part in the fight to prevent the spread of COVID-19".
