"The municipality continues to recommend to all its residents the fulfillment of the recommendations"

The Municipality of Faro is distributing more than 160 masks to the population of the municipality.

This personal protective equipment is already being distributed by Parish Councils and Unions and Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS's) for priority delivery to the needy and at-risk population, as well as to the urban public road transport concessionaire (Próximo).

A significant part of these masks is also being distributed to municipal buildings, the Municipal Market and schools in the county, not forgetting the municipality and FAGAR workers.

In all, the municipality ordered 180 thousand surgical masks, having distributed 20 thousand during the month of April, while the State of Emergency was in force, namely between security forces, IPPS's and prison establishments.

With the delivery of this material, the Municipality of Faro hopes to be able to help with the individual protection of the most needy and at-risk population, also helping the progressive resumption of the in-person activity of the municipality's services and the municipality's labor and economic activity.

In addition to distributing personal protective equipment and other material to various entities in the municipality, the municipality has also promoted and co-promoted various awareness-raising actions among the most vulnerable population or institutions such as day care centers and kindergartens.

Nevertheless, "the municipality continues to recommend to all its residents the compliance with the recommendations issued by the General Directorate of Health and the use of personal protective equipment."
