The Secretary of State for Health warned today that the epidemic "has not ended" and that "disguising is not slowing down", highlighting the trend towards an increase in the performance of Covid-19 diagnostic tests.

The secretary of state stressed that "it is never too much to remember" that success "depends on each and everyone" and the "ability to respect the other and the rules that apply to everyone."

The government official also said that more than half a million Covid-19 diagnostic tests were carried out in Portugal, with an average of around 11.500 per day being carried out in April.

"From the 1st to the 06th of May the average was over 12.400 tests per day, so the trend of increasing testing remains," he stressed.

Asked about the operation of the SNS 24 telephone line, the secretary of state said that, on Thursday, he received 6.742 calls and answered 5.432, with an average waiting time of 44 seconds.

"There is a normalization of this line, which is a good indicator of a recovery of confidence", he stated.
